Dear Peirce Families,
I hope that all of you enjoyed the vacation week. We are now in the home stretch of this unusual school year with only eight weeks remaining. Our last day of school will be Tuesday, June 22nd. Our PTO is actively planning outdoor events for each grade level and an outdoor Book Fair that will take place next week! Please stay tuned to PTO emails for information about ways to help with these opportunities. Also, I encourage all of you to join us this Sunday, May 2nd, for our annual cleanup of the school grounds as a part of NewtonServes. If you are able to help, please bring water and whatever garden tools you have available (shovels, rakes, clippers, wheelbarrows, etc).
Although we have just returned to a full schedule for our in-person students, it is already time to start planning for the fall. During the month of May, we will begin working on class lists for the 2021-22 school year. We ask that all families please let us know as soon as possible if your children will not be returning to Peirce next year so that we can plan with accuracy. Placement is a responsibility that we take very seriously, and our teams put in many hours to create balanced and fair classes. While we do know your children well, there may be additional information that you feel would be helpful for us to know. Please note that your input is OPTIONAL and is not required in order to have your child’s needs met. If you choose to give your input, we ask that you complete this form by this Friday, April 30th. Information received after this date will not be considered. Please do not request specific teachers as we are unable to honor these requests. All families will receive notification of teacher assignments in late August.
With Best Wishes,
Mark Chitty
