For the school year 2021-22, the Peirce PTO forecasts to spend $46,132 in total ($191 per student) on…

  • Creative Arts & Sciences programs (3 enrichment programs for all students in each grade)
  • Technology purchases for the building and classrooms (e.g., projectors and document cameras)
  • Teacher & principal support (e.g., stipends to support the cost of supplies)
  • Educational enrichment initiatives (e.g., Understanding Our Differences program and library books)
  • Community events & programs (e.g., Back to School Picnic, Multicultural Night, and parent workshops)
  • Other school support (e.g., staff appreciation and grounds clean-up efforts)
  • The PTO’s operating budget (While powered exclusively by volunteers, the PTO is an independent nonprofit organization and requires a small operating budget for accounting software, the website, insurance, and the like.)

The Peirce Porch Parties, directory advertising initiative, and other smaller revenue activities are expected to generate a total of $17,194. This leaves a gap of $28,938 ($120 per student) to raise by March 31, 2022 to support this school year’s budget and ensure the long-term sustainability and financial health of the PTO.  For more information regarding the 2021-22 forecast, please click here and/or contact

If your family can, please consider giving to the Annual Appeal. Newton’s public schools are excellent in part because of parent engagement and support of programs and initiatives funded through PTOs. Any contribution is appreciated and every child at Peirce benefits from the money raised. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
