Fifth grade students and families celebrate their final year at Peirce with a number of school pride, fundraising and graduation-related events.  A small committee comprised of 5th grade caregivers is formed to spear head the celebration events.  Fall events are focused on generating funds to be used toward 5th grade activities and celebrations. Past fundraiser examples include the Pumpkin Raffle, Election Day bake sale, and the Valentines Day sweets sale.  Funds raised from the fall events go towards class t-shirts, class field trips, a yearbook, and other grade specific socials.  The 5th grade graduation ceremony takes place in June.  Final activities include yearbook distribution and a “give back” program where 5th graders come up with a way to give back to the school with a special gift (e.g., tree planting).  Getting involved in the Fifth grade committee is a wonderful way to commemorate your child’s Peirce history.
