Dear Peirce Families,
This afternoon, I met with the Peirce staff and let them know that I will be leaving Peirce at the end of June and will become the new principal at Franklin Elementary School here in Newton.
I am both excited about this new opportunity and sad to leave this amazing learning community where we have grown together through moments of joy and times of sorrow over the past eleven years. Peirce is truly a special school with incredible teachers and supportive parents, and Peirce contributes so much to the dynamism of the larger Newton Public Schools community. I am pleased that I will still be connected to all of you from a different role within the Newton Public Schools family and cheering on our students from afar as they progress through our school system.
During the months of May and June, we will be celebrating our perseverance through an unusual school year and working to ensure that Peirce has a strong start to the new year in September after a restful summer break. Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Fleishman will be in touch with all of you soon about the process for finding a new principal for Peirce. I look forward to our final weeks together and, as always, welcome your questions and concerns.
With Best Wishes and Deepest Appreciation,
Mark Chitty
