Fun Run Information and Pledge Form

The Fun Run is coming!

On Wednesday, June 4, Peirce students will participate in the Color Day Fun Run.  For the next couple of weeks, all Peirce students are encouraged to raise money for a charity by soliciting friends and family (who can donate either based on the number of laps completed by the student, or a flat amount). Students are challenged to run as many laps as they can around the Peirce field as part of the Color Day activities.

This year, we are proud to support a local organization whose mission directly impacts our community at large: the Newton Food Pantry (NFP). The NFP proudly provides fresh and nutritious food to more than 2,500 Newton residents in need, and deeply relies on the efforts of the Newton community to propel its mission and impact. Last year, the NFP served over 45,000 people and made almost 12,000 household visits, yielding over a million dollars in food value provided to its beneficiaries, an estimated 35% of whom are children.

To support this effort, please work with your children to ask family and friends to sponsor their participation in the Fun Run with a donation.  Our fundraising goal is $6,000.  It sounds like a lot, but we have done it before!  Participation in the fundraising is optional, though we’re hoping each student can raise a minimum of $25. The student who raises the most money for NFP will get to throw a pie in Mr. McVey’s face!

The Fun Run Pledge Forms will be sent home soon with your students, and can also be found HERE. Sponsors can donate per lap or a set amount.  Please make sure that your child documents all donations – cash, check, or electronic payment – using this form.  This will ensure they will get credit for funds raised.

All donations must be received on/by Friday, June 13th.  We will announce the final amount raised and the highest fundraiser once tallied and send all donations directly to Newton Food Pantry.

If you have any questions about the Fun Run, please contact our Community Impact chairs, Alma Adler (alma.adler@gmail.com) and Maggie Chaviano (maggie.e.smith@gmail.com).
