Important NPS Budget Update & Upcoming School Committee Meetings

Mayor Fuller recently announced that her new choice of health insurance plans for the City will save the City some money, resulting in a decrease in Medicare Part B Reimbursement expenses for NPS in FY2024 of $650,000 and an additional $650,000 in FY2025.

Unfortunately, even with this decrease in expenses if the mayor’s proposals are approved, NPS is still $4.3M short of adequate funding for next year.  (Click here for more detail about the budget gap, impact on our schools, and action steps you can take.)

TONIGHT, Monday, April 24th, at 6:30 p.m., the School Committee will discuss the budget, including the proposal submitted by School Committee Member (and Peirce parent) Chris Brezski suggesting ways that the School Committee might try to address some of the funding problems in the short-term.  Read his proposal here: Brezski FY24 Budget Memo pdf
