Dear Peirce Families:
Last night, we held a very productive meeting regarding the principal search. Here is the PowerPoint from the presentation.
When we conducted the principal search last spring, we solicited input from the Peirce Community through a survey. We are certainly able to use this feedback again as we proceed with the search this year. However, we are mindful of the fact that we have new families at Peirce this year and there may be parents/guardians who would like to complete a new survey. Please respond to the Peirce Principal Survey no later than January 7, 2022. The information gleaned from the surveys will not only be valuable during the search process, but will be an excellent resource for the new principal.
Please note that parents/guardians can participate in the search process as a member of the Selection Advisory Committee (SAC), and/or during the “finalist days” when the candidates will spend a good part of the day at Peirce. The primary responsibility of SAC members is to craft interview questions, interview candidates, and recommend semi-finalist candidates. The SAC will also be advisory to me throughout the search process. If you are interested in participating in the SAC, you will need to be available on the dates/times listed below:
- January 12: 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- January 19: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- January 20: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In addition to the SAC, parents/guardians may also volunteer to participate in a small group interview of the finalist candidates on February 14 and 15 (time TBD).
The Peirce PTO will be responsible for submitting names of parent participants. If you are interested in participating in the search process and are not currently receiving messages from the PTO, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.
Finally, all parents/guardians are invited to attend the “meet the finalists”open meetings on February 14 and 15 (time TBD). Candidates will speak briefly and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
We are deeply committed to hiring an excellent leader for Peirce and plan to devote significant time to this task in the coming weeks. I will be sure to keep you updated and look forward to working with the Peirce Community as we begin this very important process.
Sincerely,
David Fleishman, Superintendent
