Proposed Changes to the 2022-23 School Lunch Program

NPS is in the process of setting pricing for the school lunch program at the elementary and middle/high schools. In short, due to a number of factors driving up the cost of food, the current proposal includes a significant price increase for the coming year.  The School Committee reviewed paid-meal recommendations during their 5/23 meeting. The presentation is available on the Food Services/Updates/Meal Pricing tab of the NPS website and you can access a recording of the 5/23 School Committee meeting here.  The school lunch presentation and discussion begins at the 2:32:48 mark.  Please send questions or comments regarding the proposal to Amy Mistrot, Director of Business Operations – [email protected]. All comments will be shared with the School Committee for their review prior to voting on 2022/23 prices during their 6/21 meeting. Please note that families eligible for free or reduced-price lunch will still receive financial support based upon the federal guidelines. Please check eligibility on the NPS website under the Food Services/How to Pay for Meals/Financial Assistance tab.
