Creative Arts & Sciences (CAS) is pleased to announce the return of CAS AuthorFest on April 12. There will be a wide variety of authors and illustrators visiting Newton elementary and middle schools to engage students in grades K-8 in the writing and illustrating process — from idea to published work. Peirce will be welcoming Anna Alter to our 1st grade classrooms and Mitali Perkins to our 5th grade classrooms.
After school on 4/12, from 3:15-5:30pm, all authors and illustrators participating in AuthorFest will gather in the library at Cabot Elementary School (229 Cabot Street, Newtonville) for a meet and greet, book sale, and signing event. Families from across the district will have the opportunity to meet the authors and illustrators who presented at other schools. For more information, click here.
Peirce’s Creative Arts & Sciences (CAS) program has long been dedicated to bringing authors, poets, and storytellers into Peirce’s classrooms. This fall, Peirce welcomed Kemp Harris to Kindergarten, Ralph Masiello to 2nd grade and David A. Kelly to our 3rd grade classrooms. And Andrew Green from Potato Hill Poetry will be visiting our 4th grade classrooms later this year. If you would like to know more about Peirce’s CAS program, please contact Peirce CAS Co-Chairs Suzanne Demeo and Helen Kepets or Robin Stuart, PTO Vice President.
