Participate in the Peirce Principal selection process (forms due Thurs, 5/20 @ 9p)

To the Peirce community,

If you would like to volunteer to serve on the Peirce Principal Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) and/or join small group in-person interviews with finalists, please complete and submit this form by this Thursday, May 20th at 9pm.

There is no guarantee that everyone who expresses interest will be able to be accommodated in the 9 spots available.  Our goal is to ensure a diversity of experiential perspectives amongst parents in the room (including METCO, ELL, Special Education, new and veteran families, PEDP parents, etc.).  All Peirce parents and guardians will also be invited to participate on a community call (over Zoom) with the finalists.

Selection Advisory Committee

The Selection Advisory Committee’s role will be advisor to the Superintendent, who will appoint the principal. The Committee will engage in a process which will take into consideration the needs of Peirce Elementary as it crafts interview questions, chooses candidates for interviews, and suggests semi-finalists to the Superintendent.

Committee members are required to be available for a first meeting on Tues, May 25th from 3-4:30pm (via Zoom), candidate interviews (currently scheduled for Wed, 6/2 from 12:30-3:30p and Thurs, 6/3 from 8-11a), and additional planning meetings as needed.

Small Group In-Person Interviews

Up to 6 parents will join small group in-person interviews with finalist candidates. The conversations are currently scheduled for Tues, 6/15 and Thurs, 6/17.

And, in case you missed Wednesday night’s call, attached are the slides presented by Dr. Fleishman and Eva Thompson, current Interim Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education and former Peirce principal.

Thank you for your support and engagement during this process!
