From the Principal-April 5

Dear Peirce Families,

I hope that all of you enjoyed the beautiful weekend and that all of you who celebrated Easter had a wonderful holiday.  It was thrilling to have all of our in-person students back in the building this morning, and everyone was working hard to revisit the routines that help us learn safely and effectively together.  Thank you to all who remembered to send a towel or blanket in with your child so that we can have lunch and snack outside whenever possible.

On Tuesday morning, students will join staff members (who began on March 23rd) in the voluntary pooled testing program.  We strongly encourage families to enroll their children in this program as testing is one of the best ways we have to quickly identify infection and reduce the possibility of in-school transmission. If you would like your child to participate, please complete the opt-in form in Aspen.  Students will then receive their QR code from school staff members.  Please collect the sample at home and remember to send it in on Tuesday morning!  We will collect the samples in the classrooms.

Many thanks to everyone for observing safe traffic and pedestrian behavior around our school, including both the Temple Street and parking lot sides.  On the parking lot side, it is imperative that students be dropped off only at the curb and that no one park or drop off students in the middle of the driveway.  We also request that parked cars be left on the street rather than in our lot, which is needed for staff members.  On the Temple Street side of the school, please be sure that your children cross the street only with the crossing guard at the crosswalk.   We depend on all adults in the community to follow these rules so that we can keep students safe!

With Best April Wishes,

Mark Chitty
